Helping Young Minds

Break Free From Anxiety

Watching your child struggle with anxiety can be one of the most difficult experiences a parent will ever face. Seeing them withdraw from friends, refuse to attend school, lose confidence or become overwhelmed by fear often leaves parents feeling helpless, frustrated and unsure how to support them.

The good news is that anxiety is highly treatable. Every year, I work with hundreds of children and teenagers, helping them understand their anxiety, take ownership of it and regain the confidence to enjoy life again. In fact, one in every 3 people I treat is under the age of 18.

How Anxiety Can Affect Children & Teenagers

Anxiety can present itself in many different ways and no two young people experience it in exactly the same way. Some of the most common difficulties I help with include:

  • School refusal and emotionally based school avoidance
  • Fear of being sick (Emetophobia)
  • Panic attacks
  • Social anxiety
  • Separation anxiety
  • Generalised anxiety and excessive worry
  • Intrusive thoughts
  • Health anxiety
  • Low confidence and self-esteem
  • Perfectionism and fear of failure
  • Sleep anxiety and sleep difficulties
  • Exam stress and performance anxiety

Understanding Anxiety

Is The First Step

Children often don't understand what's happening to them

They simply know that they feel frightened, overwhelmed or different

One of the first things I help young people understand is that anxiety isn't the enemy

Once they understand this, everything begins to make much more sense.

It's simply an overprotective threat system that has become stuck in overdrive

Many begin avoiding the very situations that would help them move forward. Others seek constant reassurance from parents, teachers or friends. Although this provides temporary relief, it unintentionally strengthens anxiety over time

My Approach

Every child is different, which is why every programme is tailored to the individual. I create a relaxed, supportive environment where young people feel comfortable talking without fear of judgement.

Together we work to:

  • Understand why anxiety has developed
  • Identify what’s keeping it alive
  • Build confidence and resilience
  • Reduce avoidance and reassurance seeking
  • Learn practical ownership strategies
  • Gradually face fears in a safe, structured way
  • Regain independence and confidence

The goal is for your child or teen to “own” what they think, so what they think can’t own them. Knowledge is power, so once they own it, it cant own them, its that simple!

Working With Parents

Working
With Parents

Parents play a hugely important role throughout the recovery process.

Alongside working directly with your child, I provide parents with the knowledge and practical strategies needed to support recovery at home, helping everyone work together towards the same goal.

Together we create consistency, confidence and lasting change. I also make sure that I am present in your child’s life, until they don’t need me anymore.

Every Child Deserves
To Enjoy Being Young

Anxiety can make childhood feel frightening and limiting, but it doesn't have to stay that way.

I've seen children who couldn't walk through the school gates return to full-time education.

I've helped young people overcome debilitating fears of sickness, panic attacks and social anxiety.

I've watched children who once avoided life completely become confident, resilient young adults.

With the right understanding, guidance and commitment to the process, your child can do exactly the same.

Let's Help Them Take Their Life Back

If your child is struggling with anxiety, they don't have to face it alone.
Together, we can help them build confidence, overcome fear and give them the tools to thrive—not just today, but for the rest of their lives.
